East Coast Railway commissions govt's first waste-to-energy plant


The East Coast Railway has commissioned the govt's 1st waste-to-energy plant which will turn e-waste and plastic into light diesel oil in 24 hours.

A patented technology called "Polycrack" will be used in this waste-to-energy plant, which is 1st of its kind in IndianRailways and only the 4th in India.

The plant has the capacity to process 500 kg of waste per day and will earn Rs 17.5 lakh per annum.
